Distinguished Guests, Ladies and Gentlemen:
Good Afternoon! It is my pleasure to attend the China Chain Store Expo 2006. First of all, I would like, on behalf of the Ministry of Commerce, to extend warm congratulations to the opening ceremony of the Expo, and sincere welcome to all friends from home and abroad attending the Expo.
Currently, the economic globalization accelerated the development, the scientific and technological revolution changed with each passing day, global economy and industrial structure expedited the steps of adjustment and retailing industry of all countries faced with unprecedented challenges and opportunities. Since the reform and opening up, Chinese retailing industry developed with a high speed and gradually became the driver to start market, satisfy demand, lead consumption and promote production, especially after introduction of chain store, a modern circulation mode, the scale of retailing sales in China was expanded step by step, types of operation became rich and colorful and the technology was improved day by day, which pushed forward the enhancement of large scale, organization and modernization of Chinese retailing industry, and the most important was to greatly improve the urban appearance, degree of market development, people's living environment and quality of economic operation.
The Ministry of Commerce, as the administrative department of Chinese circulation, always attaches importance to the development of chain store operation, and does much work on improvement of laws and regulations, enhancement of network planning, development of criterion system, management and control of various types of business and foster of famous brands, and endeavors to create a favorable development environment for enterprises to lead them to transfer the emphasis from on scale to benefit, from on industrial extension to connotation and from on expansion to strength, The Expo put forward the concept of "only being strong, could we be bid in scale", completely focusing on the development core of current retailing industry and was of great substantial significance to push forward the coordination between enterprises and suppliers, enterprises and consumers, enterprises and the society. I hope that chain store enterprises could make efforts in large-scale operation, normalized management and standard service to strengthen the function of chain in the practice.
China Chain Store & Franchise Association, as the industry organization in chain store operation in China, made much high-value and prospective work in accordance with the reality of industry and members' development, took a practical and realistic attitude and cherished spirit of open learning. The yearly meeting and expo for chain store industry not only played an important role as the platform for members and partners to launch communication and cooperation but also became the major channel to master the development tendency of the industry. I hope that the Association could make persistent efforts to make more contribution to the development of chain operation.
