Mr. Jiang Zengwei, Vice Minister of Commerce, led heads of relative departments of MOFCOM to Beijing Xinfadi agricultural wholesales market and Beijing Resource Group to investigate and inspect the supply and demand of Beijing Market on the occasion of Spring Festival.
Mr. Jiang Zengwei said that the Spring Festival was coming, administrative departments of commerce at all levels should coordinate the supply and demand of the market for the festival, provide commodities with various kinds, high quality and low price, and meeting the demand of consumers as requested by the heads of the State Council to offer the ordinary people a harmonious and safe environment of festival; should prevent severe fluctuation of the market price of commodities, especially, guarantee price stability of vegetable, eggs, meat, milk and poultry and other necessities closely related with our life, and timely take measures once the market price fluctuated abnormally; should endeavor to meet the demand of low-end consumers, do a good job in service in areas of catering, bathing and hairdressing to satisfy the requirement of consumers. He pointed out as the special that local administrative departments of commerce should guarantee the security of shopping malls and markets during the festival and keep the potential security risks away like fire and crush etc.
Mr. Jiang Zengwei stressed that food safety had close and direct relations with the health and life of people. Local administrative departments of commerce should attach great importance to food safety in the process of circulation and consumption.
When inspecting in Xinfadi agricultural wholesales market, Mr. Jiang Zengwei pointed out that we should focus on the procedure of purchase and carry out the system of “quality certificate and purchase invoice”, he said, the wholesales market should provide considerate service, not only maintaining the rights and interests of producers but also offering commodities with high quality and low price to consumers, on the other hand, we should enlarge the scale of service, increase the function of market. Market played an active role in price forming of agricultural products, providing sales information of agricultural products and lowering costs of circulation.
Xinfadi agricultural wholesales market was the national central wholesale market of agricultural products in Beijing and also the one with biggest scale in Beijing.
When inspecting Beijing Resource Group, Mr. Jiang Zengwei said Pig Slaughtering was one of the key headstream of food safety, only the modern industrialization and large scope business could guarantee the safety of food. The Ministry of Commerce would firmly push forward the work of Pig Slaughtering at Appointed Establishments and foster big establishments.
Beijing Resource Group, established in Dec. 1994, was the national key bellwether promoted by in the nation first batch of agricultural industrialization enterprises, now had developed to be an agricultural hi-tech group with business scope from meat processing to biological pharmaceutical.
